Later this month a new exhibition will open at the Guggenheim Museum called Countryside, The Future. Produced by architect Rem Koolhaas and Samir Bantal (Director of AMO), the focus of the exhibition is on non-urban areas -- or, the 98% of the earth's surface not occupied by cities. The 21st century is being called an urban century. But the argument here is that "the countryside is now the site where the most radical, modern components of our civilisation are taking place."
